Won't Be Painting Rainbows, Anymore

Well, The Tickled Pink One was auctioned last night and went for £500, considering the miles on the clock, you have to say was a decent effort.

All of which takes the total  raised to a very nice £1265, which with the Gift Aid comes to a leetle over £1500.

The guitar went to Vicky and John Eastham, so mucho kudos to them for that.

Excellent stuff.

And I just heard from Andrew, who I'm surprised took the time to get in touch considering he had a busy day yesterday, and it seems Pinky's little journey is going to carry on for a while longer...I'll let Andrew explain:

"The guy who bought it wants it to carry on being passed on. He said in a year he's going to auction it again, and each person keeps it for a year, then auctions it. He said if we get it on BBC breakfast time he'll donate another £500, if we can get Clapton or Weller to play it that's another £500 each"

 So it's over....for now

Your Chance To Own The Tickled Pink One - Spread The Word

Well, the Tickled Pink One has only days before it is auctioned at Andrew Robinson's wedding on the 23rd February, and as promised, even if your invite never quite made it, you can still place a bid to own this remarkable guitar, that will be sealed and opened on the big night.

We've already had a couple of bids, but if you would like to have a punt yourself, all you need to do is send us:

1. Your Name:

2. Your Address:

3. Your Telephone Number: (Preferably one where you can be reached on the evening of the 23rd February)

4. Your Bid.

**** SEALED BIDDING CLOSED *****

The Bids will be printed and posted to Andrew, to be opened on his wedding night, or maybe at the reception if that proves too busy, and therefore must arrive in Jookyland by 7am on Wednesday 20/02/13 to be valid - so don't delay, seize the moment etc.

If you are lucky enough to be the highest bidder, the Tickled Pink One will be sent by courier in a nice tweed case, along with a Diary signed by all the guitarists who have taken part in the journey. There will also be some pretty pictures.

As the winning bidder you will be expected to pay the dosh via the Tickled Pink JustGiving page HERE within 48 hours.

If the winning bidder turns out to be a shyster and not good for the dosh, the second highest bidder will then be asked to step up to the plate, whilst we gather the mob and light their torches, sharpen their pitchforks etc.

And if you don't want the guitar, that is fine, you are still more than welcome to help Breast Cancer Awareness by donating some dosh HERE

Thanks to everybody that has taken part in getting this guitar around the country - there have been many an above-and-beyond tale to tell, and of course many many thanks to Julian Longhurst without whom it probably wouldn't have gotten much further than Gordano Services on the M5 just outside Portishead. You're a star man...

THE BIDDING IS CLOSED

The Final Curtain

Well, the final leg of our around the country trip has seen The Tickled Pink One reach the frozen North and have a little jaunt around Scotland.

Apologies for not keeping this up-to-date, but life gets in the way sometimes, but I'll add some more of the fotos later on as they really are too good to miss...and my PC keeps dying at the moment.

Here is a little taster anyway, and I will be back tomorrow to tell you you can Bid for the guitar of all our dreams....

To Burton, Trevor

Well, I used to watch Trevor Burton play blues in pubs in Birmingham, but now The Tickled Pink One has left the sacred shores and moved on to Wez Venebles in Burton-on-Trent.

No, I don't understand that either.

Now Wez - indirectly, as in you can't blame him for it - started me wanting to make weird guitars in the first place, so without him none of this would have happened. So, maybe I am blaming him.

Anyway, before it journeyed on it was in Brum with Eriktheweary, in Halesowen in fact, as you can see in this story-so-far.

Which is genius, even if he wasn't in The Move

Piggin' Hell Brummies - It's The Gee Gee Song

Well, OK, it's the Tickled Pink One really, and that is good enough for me, even if I'm feeling sad and in exile from Baltiland, UK as I see that Rock 'n' Roll Dave has taken delivery of the wee thing as it finally hits my spiritual home town.

And there has been some discussion about the amount of facial hair all of the players - perhaps disciples? - are sporting as the Pinkster continues to wing it's way around our fair land. But right and proper it is too.

Where it goes next, I think it stays in Brum for a wee bit before popping off to Burton on Trent, where they all talk funny but make fine Beer.

Give my regards to Stirchley, chaps.

Fat Old Man Recording

Well, my updates seem to be more sporadic than ever, but the latest sightings of The Tickled Pink One place it in the Midlands - a Spiritual Homecoming - and I am starting to think, Young Jools and his band of strumming itinerants might just pull this off.

One thing we was verily pleased to hear, was that friend of the Pink, the Fat Old Man, had finished a recording of a song he had made in tribute to and with The Tickled Pink One.

This is it is all it's glory.

Clearly he is bonkers cool, which we like lotso. His site is well worth checking out too, not only for more tunes but because he has the finest collection of guitars the world has ever seen. Here it be, lovely.

Pinky Olympicland

Well, I seem to be just about keeping up with the various travels and bobbing around of The Tickled Pink One, though maybe it's the time of year, maybe just because I'm getting on a bit, but it seems so complicated.

I've said it before and no doubt will many times more, but Jools McTootle is a genius/saint/lot better man than I, keeping this on the road.

As of this weekend, well it reached Mike in Olympicland, Landahn, and very at home it is looking with a couple of paisley friends of the Telecaster persuasion.

Nice

Where next?

Er,, better ask Jools..
